An oral dissolving film is a new type of solid, immediate-release preparation for oral mucosal absorption. 

It is a film-like preparation made by processing the drug substance with a suitable film-forming material 

(mostly a polymer). It resembles a thin "film" about the size of a postage stamp, with the drug ingredient 

evenly distributed within a soluble matrix. The patient places the orodissolving film on the oral mucosa or 

under the tongue. The user can take it without drinking water. It can dissolve quickly on the tongue and 

be swallowed with normal swallowing movements.
